In the old days a singer would hide out in the woodshed to learn his notes. Now we have tools like midi to help us along. I hope for this page to be a collection of midi files and tools to help singerslearn their notes so that they can be ready to turn it into musicwhen they go to rehearsal.

Unless otherwise noted, the files were sequenced by George Silvisand have only the choral parts (ie, no accompaniment) and areconstant velocity (ie, no dynamics). All MIDI files in thiscollection are provided for personal use only. It is not myintention to violate any copyrights by offering this service forsingers and I believe that these midi files fall under the 'fairuse' doctrine for copyright material. If you find any MIDI files inmy collection that must not be distributed, please inform me andI'll see that the file is removed. Music companies should note thatthese MIDI files do not replace professional recordings and are ofno use unless the singer has a purchased score in front of them.
There are resources on the internet where you can find choral scores.Start your search for some of this great music at the ChoralNetsite. Another great source is musicnotes.com .
There are many programs out there that will play these files with thecontrol that a singer needs: track pan, track volume and tempo control. Some that I can recommend:
If you these files are of use, please send me a message so I'll knowit was worth while to post them. Also email about any errors youfind in the files. I'd like to make them as good as possible.Thanks.

Last night I lay a-sleepingThere came a dream so fair,I stood in old JerusalemBeside the temple there.I heard the children singing,And ever as they sangMethought the voice of angelsFrom heaven in answer rang,Methought the voice of angelsFrom heaven in answer rang.Jerusalem! Jerusalem!Lift up your gates and sing,Hosanna in the highest!Hosanna to your King! And then methought my dream was changed,The streets no longer rang.Hushed were the glad HosannasThe little children sang. The sun grew dark with mystery,The morn was cold and chill,As the shadow of a cross aroseUpon a lonely hill,As the shadow of a cross aroseUpon a lonely hill.Jerusalem! How the angels sing,Hosanna in the highest!Hosanna to your King! And once again the scene was changed,New earth there seemed to be.I saw the Holy CityBeside the tideless sea.The light of God was on its streets,The gates were open wide,And all who would might enter,And no one was denied. No need of moon or stars by night,Or sun to shine by day;It was the new JerusalemThat would not pass away,It was the new JerusalemThat would not pass away.Jerusalem! Jerusalem!Sing for the night is o'er!Hosanna in the highest!Hosanna forevermore!Score Key:G major (Sounding Pitch) ( View more )Number of Pages:6Difficulty:Intermediate Level: Recommended for Intermediate Level playersInstrument:( View more )Style:( View more )Tags.
